Straw bale community training

Students and staff from the University of Brighton have swapped their hi-tech studies for rural skills, during a training workshop this week using straw bales to support the build of The Bradbury Den.

The Bradbury Den is a new learning and community space designed to bring young people of all abilities together. It will be a unique space where the young people at Chailey Heritage can learn alongside local schools and other community groups.

"Bale-ing" Fun

Delivery incoming! The Hartley Quinn Wilson team co-ordinated their delivery of 300 bale stacks, transitioning them from the large delivery wagon to the density testing area and finally into The Bradbury Den.

The team sorted the piles into 3 sections; Soft, Medium and Hard in order to get the process ready of building the natural walls!
