Grants and funding from trusts and foundations are vital to unlocking the world of children and young people living with complex disabilities.

Your grant could help fund the development of our Specialist Services, giving children access to the latest techniques and equipment to help build their skills and prepare them for life after Chailey. Our expert teams work with each child and young person to unlock their potential. Together, we explore life-changing possibilities.

From exploring new worlds in our immersive space, to having the freedom to whizz around in the playground on a trike or powered wheelchair, your funding allows them to make their own choices.

How you can support our work

We are always developing new projects at Chailey Heritage Foundation and are looking for trusts and foundations who can help us get these projects up and running and support them in the long term.

Here are just a few examples of recent projects Trusts have funded to help children living with disabilities access education, social care and support:

• Giving young people breakthrough learning experiences on our therapeutic care farm
• Providing mobility equipment to increase young people’s mobility and independence
• Creating a new multisensory studio for children with sensory impairment (over 80% of current pupils), to enable children to develop their hearing and visual skills
• Kitting out an accessible gym for disabled people from our local community, guided by specialist instructors
• Supporting our rehabilitation engineers and assistive technologists to  explore the potential of technology to enhance young people’s independence and communication.
• An “unrestricted” grant which could be directed towards any of the above initiatives. We cannot overstate the importance of this kind of funding. It gives us the flexibility to direct funding where it’s needed most and adapt our work when needed.

• Invitations to special events and performances at Chailey.
