Celebrating a 'Good' CQC Rating for Our Futures Service

Dom 2

We are delighted to share some fantastic news about our Futures service.

Recently, the Care Quality Commission \(CQC\) carried out a comprehensive assessment of our Futures bungalows. We are incredibly proud to say that our service was found to be fully compliant with all of these principles and was rated ‘Good’ in every category.

The service was assessed against the CQC’s Right support, right care, right culture guidance, which ensures that people with a learning disability receive the respect, dignity, choice, independence and access to their communities that everyone deserves.

While achieving a positive rating is very important, what makes this recognition truly special is what sits behind it: the dedication, compassion and expertise of our staff, and the trust placed in us by the young people we support and their families.

The report included some wonderful feedback that reflects the culture we strive to create every day:

“Feedback from families was positive, with comments praising the staff for the way they interacted with people. Families told us they felt their loved ones were safe and well supported.”

This speaks volumes about the relationships our teams build and the confidence families have in the care we provide.

The inspectors also highlighted the skill and understanding shown by our staff:

“Staff knew people they supported very well and could interpret small signals and body language to understand how people were feeling and what immediate care was needed. People responded with smiles when staff communicated with them.”

At the heart of Futures is a commitment to truly knowing the young people we support – understanding their individual needs, and enabling them to live fulfilling lives.

The report also recognised our strong governance and commitment to continuous improvement:

“A quality assurance team provided a high level of oversight, and regularly monitored and evaluated any risks, incidents and accidents. Clear feedback pathways were evident with regular team meetings, and attention was given to learning and improving the service.”

And perhaps one of the most meaningful comments of all:

“The service promoted a culture of openness and transparency and had a welcoming, friendly atmosphere.”

That welcoming atmosphere is something we work hard to create every day. It's built on kindness, collaboration and a shared belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued and empowered. This achievement belongs to everyone involved in Futures – our dedicated staff, the people we support, their families and the wider Chailey Heritage Foundation community. Thank you for everything you do. We’re very proud of this result and of the positive difference Futures makes to young people’s lives every day.
