Fundraising colleague Yaz takes on Snowdon by Night challenge

A colleague from our fundraising team has completed a powerful overnight challenge: Yaz stepped out of her comfort zone to take on the “Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) by Night” experience.

Setting off at 10pm, she joined a small group to trek through the dark, guided by experienced leaders. The group reached the summit under moonlight before beginning their descent at sunrise.

The challenge offered a completely different way to experience the mountain. With fewer people on the route, the group could take in the stillness of the night sky and enjoy the sense of achievement together.

Yaz said the experience was both rewarding and memorable, with support throughout the journey helping everyone stay safe and motivated.

“Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) by Night is a unique way to climb Snowdon. Setting off at 10pm, you’ll be one of a handful of people on the mountain – you definitely won’t have to queue at the top! With incredible views of the stars and a beautiful sunrise on the descent, I really would recommend!

The crew were amazing leaders, making sure everyone felt safe throughout the night. No matter your fitness level, you will be supported throughout, plus there’s a yummy breakfast to enjoy once you’ve completed it!”

After completing the challenge, the group came together to celebrate with a well-earned breakfast.

Well done to Yaz for inspiring others to get involved. Her efforts help us continue supporting children, young people and families every day.

If you feel inspired, you can take on Snowdon by Night yourself on 15–16 August 2026. It’s a chance to challenge yourself, meet new people, and help make a difference.
