A Chelsea garden finds a new home at ChaileyWe’re proud to welcome something very special to Chailey. The Sightsavers Garden, first showcased at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, has been gifted to us. It is now being carefully rebuilt at The Bradbury Den. This generous gift will create a rich, sensory space for children and young people to explore, relax and connect.Every part of the garden has been designed with experience in mind. It invites curiosity. It encourages calm. It supports wellbeing.A garden designed to be felt and heardAt its centre sits a striking water feature. A raised corten steel halo collects rainwater and guides it down a chain into a still pool, creating a calm and gentle sound. An immersive audio soundscape adds another layer to the space. It captures the subtle sounds of plants growing and responding to their environment, offering a new way to connect with nature. There is also a tactile sculpture inspired by the texture of tree bark, with a central stone representing the tree of life. It invites children and young people to explore through touch.Around the garden, raised brick planters are filled with sensory plants chosen for their textures and aromas. Each planter has been hand-painted and personalised, celebrating the people behind the project. We’re so grateful for this generous gift. It will create a welcoming, inclusive space where children, young people and families can relax, explore and enjoy time together. Find out more on Sightsavers website
