We are looking to build a new education space on our therapy farm, Patchwork Farm.
Patchwork Farm is a fully accessible outdoor farm. It has been specially designed to give the young people at Chailey Heritage Foundation a unique, hands-on, multi-sensory learning experience. There are a number of different animals including goats, guinea pigs, ducks and our Shetland pony, NicNac.
Patchwork Farm helps the young people achieve so much more than is possible in the classroom alone.
The Den will be built with local sustainable materials and will connect with the existing barn at the farm, ensuring everyone has a place to gather and enjoy activities, rain or shine!
At the heart of what we do is ensuring that people with disabilities are included, accepted and are valued members of the community. We want to open our doors and invite the community in - mixing students of diverse abilities enhances respect and understanding for every child in our community.
The Den will increase opportunities for schools like yours to use this amazing space, allowing your pupils to gain the educational, therapeutic benefits of connecting with their environment, whilst changing the lives of the Chailey young people.
What you can do at the Den?
