Steve joined Chailey Heritage School in 2024 as Assistant Headteacher. As well as being Head of Department for St Martin's, Steve is also a designated safeguarding lead and trained manual handling advisor. He has a masters degree in SPMLD and is responsible for the quality of teaching and learning throughout the school.

His teaching career has spanned over 20 years including working in upstate New York and southern Sweden. Prior to coming to Chailey, for 15 years, he worked mainly with pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities either in a teaching or leadership capacity. His most recent positions include working at The Children's Trust in Tadworth and at Sherwood Park School in Wallington.
