During an art session at the Leisure and Skills Centre, Eleanor and Rosie worked together to create a piece of balloon smash art. Balloon smash art involves pouring three to four diluted coloured paints on top of each other onto a piece of board. Different size balloons are then blown up and pressed onto the circles of layered paint.
Firstly, the girls chose a background colour for the board and then they painted using their chosen tools, such as long rollers. They both used the the hair dryer to dry the background in preparation for the smash effect.
Four colours each were chosen, diluted and stirred. Balloons were then pumped up to a comfortable size that Eleanor and Rosie would be able to hold. The paint was then poured onto chosen areas of the board for Eleanor and Rosie to press the balloons.
The effect has been amazing. Eleanor and Rosie have been very proud of their achievements as have the support workers who enjoyed it just as much! Well done everyone.
