We’re thrilled to share the news of a grant of £2,000 from CLA Charitable Trust for our on-site therapy farm; Patchwork Farm.
The trust received a huge number of applications so we’re extremely grateful to them for selecting Patchwork Farm to benefit from this grant.
Patchwork Farm is a highly valued resource at Chailey Heritage Foundation, bringing so many benefits to our young people.
It is often difficult for young people with disabilities to access the countryside and outdoor attractions due to logistical challenges, unsuitable facilities, poor wheelchair access etc. With Patchwork Farm we bring the activities directly to the young people.
It’s amazing to see how a young person’s confidence can increase by exploring new environments and spending time outdoors with the animals. Close contact with the animals, whether it’s with the donkeys, goats, or guinea pigs, encourages the young people to communicate and we love seeing the joy they gain from these visits.
This grant will enable us to carry on providing vital farm visits for young people with complex neurodisabilities – thank you so much CLA Charitable Trust!
