James Does Jobs on the Farm

James is a very sociable, happy boy who loves interacting with everyone he meets. He especially likes having jobs to do around school and on Patchwork Farm. James enjoys brushing the guinea pigs, cleaning the tortoises and filling the buckets with hay to feed the donkeys.
Jess Mitchell, James’ residential Home Manager says: “Getting James to the farm used to be really difficult. But we realised that it was because he didn’t like going to the farm just to see the animals, he wanted to be more involved”
Here’s James enjoying his farm session brushing the guinea pigs. Interacting with the guinea pigs helps James to stay focused. This skill can then be transferable to other areas which helps with communication skills beyond the farm setting.
