Relationship and Sex Education is just one of the areas in which Chailey Heritage Foundation leads at a national level with the provision of a bespoke training course for schools and individuals called The Sex Factor. Now that events and exhibitions are back up and running, we’re able to spread the word about our popular Sex Factor course again.
The Kidz to Adultz Exhibition in Coventry on 17th March provided a great opportunity to maintain the profile of this subject and our Assistant Head Teacher, Paula, delivered a seminar about the Sex Factor training. Paula gave an overview of the way that Relationships and Sex Education is approached at Chailey Heritage Foundation, explaining the rationale behind it, and the training that is provided via the Sex Factor course. The session led to some in-depth discussion and sharing of parent and professional experiences.
Three teachers from Derby asked if they could attend the full Sex Factor course, as they were keen to learn about how to support Relationship and Sex Education in their mainstream school setting. As one person commented on their evaluation form: “Someone positively looking at Sexual Education for people with neuro-disabilities – this made me think differently! Everything about this presentation was excellent!”
The exhibition took place in the Coventry Building Society Arena and was organised by Disabled Living. If you missed out on our Sex Factor presentation, you can catch us at the next Kidz to Adulz Exhibition in Farnborough on Tuesday 17th May where we will be delivering the presentation again.
