We want to express our gratitude to the staff that make Chailey Heritage Foundation such a fantastic place for all the young people and their families. We really couldn’t do it without the ongoing care and dedication of our staff. Since 2017 we have awarded ‘Appreciation Awards’ to staff for their long service, these start at five-years and then increase in five-year increments. We spoke to some of those receiving awards recently.
Suzanne Hooker (Special Education Assistant) is receiving a five-year Appreciation Award for her hard work and dedication to the young people at Chailey Heritage Foundation. Suzanne says, “Every day, the young people make me feel happy and rewarded.”
Alex Hull (Special Education Assistant) is also receiving a five-year Appreciation Award. Alex says, "I have loved my time so far working within the school at Chailey. Seeing the progression the young people make, however small, is so rewarding. From helping them prepare for college or improving their movement to aid their independence."
Lastly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to Catherine Manning (Support Worker) for twenty years of service at Chailey Heritage Foundation. Twenty years is such a wonderful contribution and we hope that the Appreciation Award goes some way to showing how grateful we are for your time and dedication. Catherine says, “I have worked at CHF for twenty years and I have seen many changes and challenges. I remember what someone told me many years ago, they are people with disabilities, not disabled people. The person always comes first.”
