Planting has begun in the Garden of Celebration. Last Friday, in the torrential rain, the volunteer gardeners planted over 400 plants. Due to Brexit and Covid, plants are in short supply and there will be a few more planted in the autumn including the boundary hedge. Later on in June, near the west entrance gate, the wildflower circle will be seeded, above which will be a crab apple tree, which will be planted in the winter.
The path will soon be layed. It will then need a couple of days to set fast, after which we hope the garden can be fitted with the new benches and people can start to enjoy it!
The new Garden of Celebration will provide a permanent location where we can remember all those that have enriched our community – whether that be as a pupil in the school, a young adult, a volunteer, staff member or through their dedicated support.
Thank you to our generous supporters who have made our Garden of Celebration possible.
