During the summer months the LSC gym was delighted to be able to reopen its doors to all of its customers. It has been great to see many of our customers returning but we have also have been pleased to welcome a new influx of customers during this time. Since August, we have successfully carried out 14 gym assessments for new customers to the gym.
One of the new customers is Jennifer. Jennifer can be seen in the pictures enjoying a workout. Every new customer who joins the gym firstly takes part in a gym/physio assessment. In the assessment we discuss:
We will then assess strength and range of movement and try out a range of different exercises aimed towards putting together a gym programme that our instructors will then take the customer through each session. The programme is customised towards working through the customer goals with the instructors help to ensure that correct technique and form is carried out through each exercise. All of the sessions are supported by Fitness Instructors who are on hand to help motivate, set challenges and goals and adapt the goals as the customer develops through their sessions.
During the first few initial sessions we carry out a number of fitness tests looking at strength and cardiovascular levels so that we can monitor progress.
In the pictures we can see Jennifer working through her programme. Jennifer had a number of initial goals when she joined the gym. The goals included:
We like to keep the sessions in the gym as fun as possible. In the pictures you can see Jennifer working her way through a little timed course outside that involved step up’s, shoulder pressing, bouncing on a fit ball and kicking a football into a goal. All of the exercises were in keeping with Jennifer’s goals and in the timed environment Jennifer was able to attempt the course 3 times. The aim was to see if she could beat her time, which she successfully managed to do on the third attempt.
Well done Jennifer from Dan, Charles and everyone at the LSC.
