Patchwork Farm, a therapeutic care farm, has been designed specifically to meet the needs of young people with complex disabilities, with fully accessible wheelchair friendly walkways, a raised viewing platform and a covered Outdoor Learning Centre.
With thanks to the generous support of our local community we have been able to develop part of a large field on our site into a fantastic multi-sensory learning environment. Here, young people can interact with animals, learn about animal care and experience new sights, sounds, textures and smells.
Patchwork Farm’s new residents include sheep, goats, pigs, donkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and ducks. As well as providing the young people at Chailey Heritage Foundation with a wonderful learning resource, in time we will also be opening up the Farm to other local schools.
Continued support for this project will be needed to help cover the costs of caring for the animals, as well as developing the site further over the coming months and years. Read about the current Patchwork Farm appeal here.
