Festive Fun at Chailey Heritage

This month at Chailey Heritage Foundation has been a busy one, full of exciting Christmas activities for everyone to get involved in. From parties and wreath making to sensory nativities and pantos, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of activities to celebrate the festive season. Here’s some of the highlights.
Wreath making
The first of our Hub sessions was a fantastic wreath making session. The dried fruit and spices made the area smell wonderful!
Gingerbread house making
The next Hub session was gingerbread house making which was harder than it looks but everyone did a fantastic job.
Roller disco
Young people enjoyed zooming round the Dream Centre aided by their Support Worker on skates.
Christmas for kids shows
Christmas for Kids performed two fantastic sensory shows for us during December.
Sensory story
Our Activity Coordinator read us a Christmas Robin story complete with sensory props.
Sensory nativity
St Martin’s department enjoyed an outdoor sensory nativity.
Santa visit
Santa visited St Martin’s department and our bungalows.
Polar Express experience
Hanbury department enjoyed an amazing Polar Express experience put together by one of the teachers.
Christmas parties
Our bungalows, Aquamovers group and Leisure and Skills Centre all enjoyed brilliant Christmas parties with games, arts and crafts, visits from santa and lots of food.
Singing Hands Christmas session
Singing Hands held a festive singing and signing session and filmed the Christmas Congo video with us which you can watch here.
Christmas plays
All school departments performed a Christmas play or panto for parents – fantastic work from everyone!
Christmas singing
A professional singer joined us to perform some Christmas hits and we had a lovely morning joining in.

We took part in the 12 days of Christmas video Makaton style
