Make A Difference This Volunteers Week

It’s Volunteers Week and we’d like to thank our incredible team of volunteers who do so much to support Chailey Heritage Foundation 💜

From gardening to therapeutic horse riding to supporting our fundraising events, our volunteers get involved with a wide range of areas across the Foundation.

Giving back to causes you care about can be so rewarding. Volunteering is also great for meeting new people or gaining more skills.

Linda, one of our therapeutic horse riding volunteers says her favourite thing about volunteering is seeing how much the young people gain from riding and how happy they are during the sessions. ‘It’s been interesting to learn more about therapeutic horse riding through my volunteer role and how riding impacts the body.’

Caroline, our lead gardening volunteer says her work at Chailey Heritage is very important to her.

"I just love to come to Chailey Heritage and I definitely feel better when I leave. About three years ago I was looking to do some volunteering that tied in with my experience. I knew some people at the charity so I enquired, and it really went from there. 

"It grounds me completely, compared to the elite world that I am privileged to work in, and it allows me to give something back to society."
