You may think there’s still plenty of time until Christmas, but students from Chailey Heritage School’s Hanbury department are already thinking about one of the highlights of the CHF calendar, the Hanbury Panto!
Every year, the Hanbury department (which consists of students between the ages of 16 and 19), put on a traditional pantomime with a unique Chailey twist. Preparations have been under way for the last few weeks, with drama teacher Helen Dunman putting the students through their early paces.
Exact details of this year’s panto are still firmly under wraps (oh yes, they are!), but these photos show just how much the students enjoy rehearsing the pantomime.
The students have been using the immersive stage space in the Dream Centre for their rehearsals. The projections on the walls help bring the sense of location to life, along with other sensory props like (fake!) cobwebs and peacock feathers.
