At Patchwork Farm, recent government guidelines stated that all birds need to have enclosures due to a rise in avian flu. Instead of spending money on a new duck house, the Estates team embraced the spirit of the Chailey Carbon Challenge by upcycling materials from the old sauna which had recently been removed.
The ducks now have their very own upcycled house and the sheep have benefitted too, as there was enough material left to create a new porch roof for them.
What a fantastic effort from the Estates team 👏 Being creative with old materials benefits the environment and saves money too!
The Patchwork Farm team are also very savvy when it comes to reusing old materials. What other upcycling projects can you spot in these photos?
