Happy 90th Birthday to our President

Today we celebrate our President’s very special 90th birthday. Verena Hanbury is the granddaughter of our founder, Dame Grace Kimmins, and has been involved with the charity since she was a child, first coming to special events and Sunday services on-site.
 
In 1962, she became a governor and later on the Chair and eventually a Trustee. While volunteering for the charity, Verena was involved in fundraising campaigns and secured funds for many of the buildings you can still see today, including our residential bungalows, swimming pool and riding arena.
 
Having served over 50 years on our boards, she retired in 2018 and we were delighted that she agreed to be our President. Verena still loves to visit and catch up with the young people and staff.
 
On behalf of all the staff and young people at CHF, we would like to wish Verena Hanbury a very Happy Birthday!
