On Thursday last week Chailey Heritage Foundation were able to put on two fantastic online sessions on Will Writing and Legacy Tax Planning with Rose Macfarlane a Senior Associate Solicitor with Irwin Mitchell in Crawley. We would like to thank Rose, who is a long-term supporter of Chailey Heritage Foundation, for generously offering her time and expertise free of charge to the attendees at the lunchtime and evening sessions.

The fascinating presentation covered topics including the reasons for making a will, use of trusts, efficient tax planning, the 10% scheme and powers of attorney. In the subsequent Q&A Rose was even able to address specific questions relating to the individual circumstances of the attendees.

With over 15% of individual giving in the UK coming from gifts in wills it is increasingly important for everyone to understand how best to arrange their affairs to ensure that their family’s and the causes that they care most about receive the maximum from their legacy.
